A hlavně spousta drobků. Růža se nechává opečovávat se špatně skrývaným uspokojením a bravurně zvládá i veškeré léčebné procedury jako zábaly, podávání antibiotik a neustálé litování ze strany hloupých, ochočených páníčků.
On Tuesday, my planned pleasant evening turned into a pick-up service for my sneezing and coughing dog and her tireless personal caretaker. After driving for some two hours just to get her home, she manifested such pleasure at being sick and finally properly taken cared of, that I immediately spotted the connection between her present attitude and my own school age illnesses. Then, each little flu to me meant at least a week-long party in the bed, where everything could fit - from piles and piles of magazines to toys and all the food and drink I wished for. And breadcrumbs. Lots of them. Růža lets us fuss about her with not very well hidden pleasure, and she even enjoys all the healing procedures, including scarves to help her throat clear, the antibiotics, and, most of all, the constant attention from her dumb, domesticated owners.

A byly výborné! Měli jsme k nim brambory na cibuli a cizrně s mixem koření.
To improve the evening at least a little bit, I bought two trouts. When I washed the poor fish in my sink, I begun suspecting that some of those old Jewish legends might actually be true. They looked at me so sadly that I almost believed they were two poor human souls trapped in fragile fish bodies. Nevertheless, that did not stop us from devouring them for dinner, with herbs and lemon to be sure. It tasted delicious! We had them with some potato baked with chickpeas, onion and mixed spice.
